Sounds like a dragster pulling away Andy. Simple engine and no cam chains or belts to cause problems.
It had been laid up for 6 Months in Birmingham. When nearly home, the clutch slave cylinder failed but drove on matching the gears as it was very close to his house. Thats a gearbox out job and took 3 hours work. The car will be for weekends and car shows as he drives a diesel Mondeo to work.
I drove a Lincoln 4 litre V8 last time i was in Florida but that was an auto box and tame.
The Monaro is a large car but just 2 doors. Great big leather seats to suit the larger people.
Import charges for the parts including a new clutch were round £300. Thats about what the parts cost so its a bit pricey importing from the USA now. Parts are generally low priced as they are common in the USA.
