Den, i did put a sign up on the gateway into Exmouth saying it was closed to Grockles a few years back.
It is very busy around here mainly due to Sandy Bay holiday park being the biggest caravan site in the UK and that has been here about 70 years i would think. I worked there 50 years ago for a bit.
Population has doubled but none of the services have been made bigger to cover the extra people.
They closed the new cop shop 5 years ago now they want to knock it down and build a new one but bats have got in so they cant do it. The 18 year old lifeboat station, built with a ramp that was too short and required rebuilding, now has its roof off due to the aluminium fixings rotting. The new houses going up now are just too many for the Schools so pupils may have to travel by bus to Exeter.
Meanwhile, the Gay and drugs scene are doing very well and there are lots of Gay parties in Town now. For some reason, someone thought it was a good idea to put a Twin towers memorial in our local play park and the Geoneedle on the cliff opened by Prince Charles back then, had the name of Nelsons wife mixed up with his Mistress so wron g name carved into the needle which is very high and tall and expensive to replace one of the large rocks with the script on. I suggested some duct tape over it then write the correct name with a permanent marker.
Nelson would have given his right arm to see it.
The sewage plant has failed and the sea has turned brown and 50 tankers are moving the crap into someone elses River.
The good thing is, we have a good supermarket and thats about it.
