I used to run a 2 stroke on a mix of petrol, paraffin and engine oil for lubricant. Made a lot of smoke and lost a bit of power but it got me places.
Half way between pay days, could not ride the bike anywhere as not enough fuel for outings.
The most difficult period was aged 18 running a Cooper at 24 MPG with insurance at 10 times my weekly wage.
