Its funny to listen to all the pros and cons of this free money as they remind us we will get another 400 pounds a year next April less tax of course. I did find it surprising i got all these payments last year when there are more deserving basic pension people finding it hard so maybe its a right decision to means test it. I am fortunate to have excellent insulation to keep the heat in the house but the attached house next door puts heating on at 6am and it warms the dividing wall so no need to use mine much. Come downstairs on a frosty Morning with no heating on and it will be 17C so i add 2C with one hour of the boiler and that is enough until Evening time and add another 2 hours.
I hope my Neighbour never moves away as i appreciate his heating gift
