Indeed having done your eye test they must give you the lens prescription. You are under no obligation to buy lenses or frames from them. You can then take this to any optician to make new lenses. Indeed I am fortunate because in Leicester there is a company that makes lenses for opticians, and also the general public. I take my prescription to them, they make the lenses and then fit them into my frames. They charge a fraction of the price of Specsavers etc.
Other opinions may be available but this one is always correct.
