"Never thought I would get out on a bike and come back feeling down"

Tell me about it Jerry - about 4 miles into my ride the "dunkelflaute" got worse. I was glad to get home.

Heavy mist came down, as well as a decrease in temperature.

Looks like I mis judged the weather - came back and did a bit more on the KH.

Just 2 more bolts and I can take the engine out, then it is about 1/2 an hour to split the cases so that I can hopefully find out the source of all the noise.

I did notice while I was taking it apart that the shaft that the clutch fits on (called the "input" shaft by Mother Kawasaki) was spinning in the inner part of the bearing, so that may have something doing with it.

Probably be a good idea to replace the shaft - a few NOS ones about on E Bay for not too silly money.
