The basic lie that rots everything about EVs is that human activity will destroy the earth, and that EVs are part of the solution.

Normal people got roped into the lie and the bogus solutions because they got panicky and because they don't understand basic physics.

Globalists (the EU, WEF, UN) knew it was a lie, but pushed it because they saw a path to power by herding panicky sheep.
