I have relatives and neighbors who farm; one leases our land.
Even when you are smart and experienced, it's a grind. Some haven't taken a vacation in years. Dairy farmers start their day at 0400 or so 24/7/365.
It's a lifestyle that they've chosen. Far different in many ways from working for a boss for a paycheck. The ones I know wouldn't have it any other way, and I'm glad of it. I like to eat.
