It seems that everyone I meet in the bike trade is depressed and talking down their own business.
I said to one tyre place "You order them in at trade & charge me £5 each more than the internet price & fit them when you're quiet for £15 each, loose wheels."
"Can't do it" he said "my accountant says I have to charge £28 per wheel and you supply."
"Ask your accountant which is best, £30 + a minimum of £10 = £40 minimum extra in the till at a quiet time, or £56 not in the till at an even quieter time?"
The accountant gets paid for that advice! I pay to give my advice.
