Come to sunny Exmouth and sit around the marina flats and be called a peasant. When those were built, Norma Tebbit bought 2 of them as holiday retreats. They still do not sell well at all but now they are designated flood risk, no loans to buy one so most rented out.
The first owners back about 30 years ago did not appreciate me cooking mackeral on the beach under the balconies. When i took the empty cockle shells back to the shore for dumping, they did not like that either. Traditions are hard to stop and these activities were going on in the 1700s. The shells are great for bare feet walking. Scratches a bit.
Tourists still flock here to stay in caravans on the cliffs and get rocked by wind all night
