I was back in London 2 weeks ago for the first time in 5 years.
Problem on the tube, so I jumped in a Black Cab to get me back to St. Pancras, having lost 15 mins in the delay.
20 mph in a cab along Euston Rd. & every set of lights against us! No chance!
I missed the closed signal for the train gate, but the Barrier Man asked if I'd been on the Met Line. I confirmed it & said I'd jumped out & got a cab for speed.
He laughed, "Gotcha! Not a snowball's these days. I'll sign your ticket for the next one."
