EVs in this country have always either been bought as city second cars for 50 mile round trip commutes, or as virtue signalling poseur cars to show how avant-garde or environmentally aware they are.

Useless in the, as you say, wide open spaces. Chargers are rare, you have to find them with an app. As the Greta hysteria dies, so are the EVs.
