There's a retired bloke round here that spends 2-3 weeks every year touring Europe on an MZ250, complete with handguards made of ziptied cut up plastic bottles & panniers from old Royal Mail bags.
Back in the early '80's, a mate overlanded to both India & North Africa on a Kawa Z-400 twin.
