You may recall, my new to me R80 with an S fairing was facing the chop due to ridiculous wind noise. It must be a seating position thing as my Guzzi Mille never caused a problem.

I've got good ear plugs, tried numerous alterations to my neck tube, screens, etc etc. I then tried a £450 HJC RPHA 91 helmet which was no better than my I90 HJC which was a much more reasonable £140.

Today I tried the £500 Schuberth C5. Not expecting much difference and fairly resigned to yet another lovely BMW departing due to the wind roar.

But, the Schuberth is something else - really something else. I knew within a mile that it was excellent, by 50 miles (of my short, planned test ride!) £500 seemed a bargain.

Allegedly it has a slightly louder rating than the HJC. That's just tosh. So, an expensive ride that cost £500 but one that means I can keep one of the best Airheads of the twenty or so I've owned.
