I might upset the rivet counters

Taken the carrier off the CB350 and I think it looks a lot nicer. I will be riding the bike and also showing it but have decided to get rid of the large rear light that is fitted to the American spec bikes and fit the small UK version which I have. Maybe it will upset the purists and rivet counters but will keep the American spec higher handlebars as they sure are nice and comfy. Bloody hell I must be getting old from being a wel'ard rocker that grew up riding with clip-ons and rear sets.

That looks very nice, I agree with your decision to scale down the rear lamp a bit, why not fit an LED rear bulb while you are at it, a lot brigher than the standard fillament item.

Have fitted LEDs front and rear on the KH and Morini, as I like to ride with the lights on these days, as you know LEDs dont put as much load on the ageing electrics.

I must have always been a wimp, never could get on with low bars

Who needs a signature anyway......

as you know LEDs dont put as much load on the ageing electrics.

And, being pre-1st April '86 registered bikes, are legal as well.

Is the painted rear light bracket standard, Jerry ? My hazy recollection is that they were chromed originally - on UK bikes at least.

Lighter bikes are becoming a lot more appealing of late. Not so bad when on the move, but shifting the fleet around the garage is becoming hard work.

Yeah, that rear light is a bit of a monstrosity, innit!

I have to say, I prefer the green CB350. I remember being mightily impressed with the CB350 from a pillion perspective, aged 17.

Today, I have been mostly fettling my new-to-me Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC having had the claim settled for the loss of my original one from outside my hotel in Scarborough.

It's disappointing finding the snags, and I have been. Brake caliper bolts that required a breaker bar to crack them, only to find the threads were covered in copper grease. These bolts are supposed to have dry threads when torqued up. If they're lubed, too much torque can be applied resulting in stretch at best, or stripped threads. Same went for the front wheel axle spindle. It needed a breaker bar. I suspect a tyre place grunt had been let loose on it - do it up nice and tight with no idea of the correct torques to apply.

The rear light does look like the wrong one for the bike

Just had a look at a lot of CB350 rear lights and it does look the right light but all have been painted black . It depends if you wanted a show bike but none of my bikes are accurate in every detail. I doubt there are actually any correct to the last detail bikes out there although some look very nice

No, that big ugly thing is an American spec tail light. Probably thousands of them binned over the years....

Hi Jerry yes i fitted the uk rear light and rear light bracket. to my cb360 which was american spec i also fitted the uk style handlebars as well and still find them comfortable,as someone else mentioned the rear light bracket coulor which should be black.

Thanks Dave. The bracket looks the same I was only going to change the light as has the same fixings.
