The weather O/T

Not sure the weather forecasters always used to do this, but whenever temperature, or rainfall are above or below the "average" for the time of year (whatever the average figure is), they always have to mention it.

Always used to be they would just say we are going to have a hot or cold spell, or a dry or wet spell, these days they seem obsessed with so called above or below "average" figures.

Guess it is their way of continually reminding us all of the global climate issues.

Talking of which what hapenned to Greta Turdburger?

Who needs a signature anyway......

I liked the reply of the host country of the COP climate change conference .. they said all daft it's a natural progression of the Earth and Sun ..

Any faith I may have had with the meeja was destroyed more than 50 years ago. So called "foreign reporters" writing their stories, whilst sat at the hotel bar far from actuality.

Having queued for ages in a French post office to get to the only open one of four serving points I teased the lethargic girl at how busy she was. Her reply was "All the while I have a queue I have a job".

I once went into an empty Swiss post office, a large branch, and went straight up to the counter. The girl told me to go back to the ticket machine and wait for my number to be called. True.

The Shirky principle. Definitely in action at COP. I've yet to see one proper piece of peer reviewed scientific research which proves anthropogenic climate change.

I read in the Telegraph that the British contingent in Brazil was 450 people. I wouldn't be surprised if the number of world reporters, cameramen, sound engineers, researchers, fixers, make-up, continuity etc who had flown thousands of miles to attend was 1000 or many more.
