The Ace was way out of my area and still is, must have been great to have been there in it's hey day.

We had a few decent cafes around here where bikers used to hang out - all sadly gone now.

In fact it is the one in this picture on E Bay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/275166971692 think it closed in the early 20, 20's the garage is still going, very old school and is where we get our cars MOT'd.

Who needs a signature anyway......

I had one on my B31 seemed to go with the Ace bars and Burgess straight through silencer. Cool eh

Those leopard skin seat covers were good for at least an extra 7mph, but on the bike in the photo is that extra performance lost by the enormous rear mudflap?

yep,that Triumph has all the 60's speed kit, chrome oil tank, rear crash bars as well as the mud flap, looks like his over trousers on the tank rack too. and with those daft apehangers I bet he has tassels in the ends.

I first saw The Ace in 1973, a tyre depot. The best cafe in the area was just off North Circular at Staples Corner. Cafe was under the arches.
I remember the bike cafe at Watford just off M1, but it was a Little Chef then. Went to Surrey with Dad's mate in his Riley 4/72 & he remembered going there in his youth when it was the Busy Bee.
From memory the Ace opened partially mid-late 1990s in part of the tyre depot.

No one knows the Ace unless they can remember the tea spoons tied to the tables amid a layer of cold tea slops.

Or the blissful sound of a dozen Goldies starting together, or [almost] and the perfume of Castrol R filling the car park.

They don't know they're born these days.
