misshap

I took the Commando out for its first ride since the cyclone finished,I was just approaching a set of traffic lights,as I gently touched the front brake the wheel shot out from under me, picking myself up I spotted a 1/2 inch pipe about 3 inchs long which had brought me down,as I struggled to pick up the bike a young copper started to hassle me as I was holding him up.He made no attempt to help me until a SGT.in the car told him off, he asked me how old I was, 83 I said ,well you should not be riding at your age as he went back to his car the SGT. said he wont live that long if his attude didn't improve

I am always looking for small tree branches on my rides. Lucky you came out well after that little mistake

Sorry to see that you have cops like that. Hope that young punk gets beaten within an inch of his life at his next traffic stop.

There's not much worse than someone who uses the power of the State and his weapons to feed his ego and to harass and insult the citizens he's supposed to protect and serve...

Sorry about your unintended dismount Baz, hope there is not too much damage to yourself or the bike. I think you are doing very well to be still riding that big old lump of Commando at 83.
I will be 81 this year, and find the Goldie is getting heavier each year, but will carry on as long as possible. As for the a--hole cop not helping you with the bike, and his comment re your age,
lets hope he gets his comeuppance in the not to distant future.

Good to hear that you are in one piece, so much for the Cop, as others have said hope he gets come uppance, hopefully when he least expects it.

Who needs a signature anyway......

Glad your ok Baz. Hope not too much damage to bike. The cop just sounds like most London traffic cops around here, complete arseholes!!!.

The SGT. who was much older was surprised when I took my helmet off he said expected a much younger bloke ,luck for me there was no damage to the Commando [ red of course] as I took most of the weight thanks for your thoughts
