I think Leon was old enough to have attempted this and a very good effort. I have decided not to re-create the stunt.

Electric wires, not enough distance to open the chute, didn't get away from the motorcycle ...

If he did survive, it was dumb luck and not due to planning....

I guess at the time it was just a bike !

Rather looks like he managed to wipe out some sort of utilities pole when he "landed" - bet that wiped out his Youtube ad revenue !

Those cables and poles hooked up the parachute and saved him smashing into the ground. I expect he will try again.

He would be getting on a bit by now, Geoff - the film was dated 1926 ?

I don't think the pole was to do with the parachute - he appears to manually pull a ripcord shortly after leaving the cliff, though the 'chute is rather slow to deploy.

Thats a bit tongue in cheek Nigel. It would be more difficult when he would be about 130 years old. Reminds me of the man who tried to fly off the Eiffel tower
