EVERYONE hated the Muncie shifters! Especially when locking columns came out in 69,along with the reverse back drive device. Fighting issues with these shifters was a common occurrence when I worked at a Chevy dealership in the 70's. Saw many tossed in the trash,including several B body 4 speeds I owned back then. I have one in my 69 Biscayne and glad I have the original set up,but I also hate it. At least it keeps you from abusing the car with power shifts.
