Lacquer or orange peel or what?
Many States have outlawed lacquer, but I guess that wouldn’t stop it from happening.
To me it’s about how we enjoy our cars, driving in a trailer or driving them?
It would kind of leave the show to survivors, and true all legitimate survivors would leave either cars that are just that, door dings and all or .... well I guess we can’t have your cake and eat it too

So a GM replacement part for functionality be ok to use? Cause Donny always says, “that part is made out of unobtainium ” my favorite quote of his.
Through the years we have been told laser straight, ALL nos, or better, most trailed cars are far nicer than they were new, let’s not kid ourselves.
We all know that these cars were made for transportation, not as show cars in 50+ years, he (Bob) would need different classifications or no cars to show...
So the “pebble beach” cars, 1 of 3 made legitimately, parts are not available and they have them made, so is that a reproduction part or ?
Sure I get it, every body wants what they want, I drive my car, so I don’t worry about awards, to much bias and expense trying to out o the next guy, what one judge thinks may be different than another, and as many plants that were putting out these cars, who is going to prove and with what documentation on what was done where?
Maybe Bob is getting to many requests for people to show their cars so he needs to find a way to thin out the heard, not sure.
Some people have cash to burn and don’t care, others don’t,
in the big picture it’s about preference, and working with one group on a “Higher” level of judging?
Then what group will it be next year.
Not that I don’t like over restored car, just hate to see them not being driven and used as investments. Preference
When does good enough not become good enough?
I guess it create maybe some more work for the industry
