1969 Biscayne

Very nice . Do you have disc brakes on it ? I put ones on my 1966 Caprice from a 69/70 GM single piston set up added power booster at the same time . PM if you want to chat

Thanks Chevy66, I don't have disc brakes on it yet, but do have the disc setup. Just waiting to get the power brake set up. I tried to send a PM but it would not go through. Give me a call if you like.

Welcome to the site. Nice car. I have a Biscayne hood on My Impala SS427 L72. They look like a nosed hood :emblems removed and filled in. My car is a Le-Mans blue sport coupe. NICK L72

Welcome Geof! Two very nice Biscaynes!

If I wasn't in over my head with 67's I'd have a few 69's. Biscayne's would certainly be at the top of the list.

It's a small world. Your blue Biscayne was found by the same guy I bought my green Bel Air from. Over the years he's had a knack for tracking down these cars. I watched your blue one come back to life as well as make some pretty impressive passes down the track. Very cool car!

Thanks Ken, that exhaust is gone,I think they were L72 pipes, will be putting on a stock dual exhaust.
Thanks Chad, have the motor and transmission in, always on the hunt for that elusive part, LOL.

Does anyone know if a 1968 L72 exhaust is the same as a 1969?
Gardner exhaust has a listing for a 1968 but not a 1969.

The L72 system on a 69 is completely different from 68. The hangers are different and the pipes are also bent totally different. I verefied this on a completely original 69 L72 4 door Impala last December.

Does anyone offer a system for a 69 L72?
I will check with Waldron this coming week at Hershey to see if they make one.

Ken, I am not sure on that, going to need a complete exhaust for mine . I will be interested to know. That exhaust that was on my car was a cobbled up mess.

Take a look at Waldron Exhaust They have some pretty interesting systems. And "correctness " seems to be important. Morley

I ordered My 69 SS427 when the 69 models came out while I worked as a Chevy Tech. It was built the 3rd week of December 1968. My Christmas to Myself. Le-Mans blue, black interior, stereo multiplex, m21, 373 posi, and red lines with blue wheels. I had custom 2 1/2 tailpipes made with straight pipes out the back. I did not like the pipes coming out the side when the air pump backed off. I showed it at the 69 Dqytona 500 and all the shows, while it was a daily driver. It is being restored now. My body man is slow but good. NICK L72
