Good morning guys, I am planning on taking out my 1968 427 and having it rebuilt. It runs now but I think the heads need work and the cam is getting flat. The question I have is I have original A/C with R 12 that works great. I do not want to break down the A/C. Has anyone had any luck just pushing the compressor to the side and leaving it connected and pulling the motor. Please let me know what you think. Thanks Tom B. I salute all our heroes on this Memorial Day .

You can use some bungee to hold things await so you can pull the engine .

Have done it a couple times Tom. It's a pain but it can be done.
You might want to give the clamps a nudge to tighten them up before disturbing anything. Wrap up the compressor in an old towel or blanket and pull it over as far away from everything that you can. It will be in the way for a lot of what you need to do but you'll probably get used to working around it.

Keith... was wondering if you own a 67 SS ? I sold a 4 speed console several years ago to a guy named Keith that was re-building a 67.Bogey Bob

Hey Bob,
I have a couple bucket seat 4-speed cars so it could have been me. I've bought a handful of these consoles over the years.
Do you have any more available?
Keith
