Honor Flight

I know this has nothing to do with Impalas/cars, I just got back from a trip to D.C with Honor Flight out of Columbus,Oh, if any one on this board qualifies to go P L E A S E fill out an application to go.
I can not tell you how much it meant to go on that trip. Any one that wants to talk about it either email me or PM me.

Ron - My friend that serve in Vietnam went yesterday as well.... my Uncle that serve in Korea went a few years ago... they said it was unbelievable !

A friend who served during the Korea war was suppose to go with me but died of cancer a week before the trip, I took his Army picture, obituary along with a couple other things and layed them at the base of the Korean Memorial.
I collected $155.00 from coffee guys and handed the head guy of Honor Flight a check in his name dedicated to the Honor Flight at the Memorial. Did not have a dry eye.

I then went to the Vietnam Memorial and got pencil etchings of five (5) names of the guys killed out of my senior class, going to take them to our next class reunion.

Here's a link to a fairly short (but well worth the time to watch) video clip from a local news broadcast that does a great job describing what Ron and others got to experience on their Honor Flights.

Very well done and needless to say, an expression of thanks that was way overdue!

To show you how much this has grown, here are the numbers of Veterans from my flight last week:
4 World War II
20 Korea
7 Purple Heart
And along with me, 86 Vietnam
We had several Desert Storm along as guardian's bringing the total to 116 Veterans
