POST A PICTURE

It's been a while since we did this....there are new members here, good opportunity to see what everyone has / working on.
I have three '69 - a Custom Coupe with 7000 miles, SS427 that is in restoration and the latest is a Bel Air with 13000 miles ( this came from a site member here )

45,000 mile LM1. Dragged this home a few years ago from Virginia, and put in storage. Time to mess with it now.

At least it is Le-mans blue which makes it awesome. It looks good in the rain. Drive it to enjoy it. I have My hood off and ready to install the windshield. Then the engine will be lifted in. NICK L72

Cool car. That is the car that convinced Me to order My 1969 L72 Impala SS427 sport coupe in Le-mans blue. My buddies car was a Marina blue on blue. It was fun to drive. A shame He sold it. I like the setting for the picture. NICK L72

'69 Sport Coupe, L48 350/300 HP,4 speed, 12 bolt 3.31 posi, 10 10 10 car(black wheels), bench seat, Rosewood wheel, tinted glass, no PS, manual drum brakes. I tried to retain as much of it as original as possible. Original except tranny, air cleaner, radiator, exhaust manifolds.I have 1 almost complete build sheet and pieces of 2 others. Car sat for 25 years. I believe it was sold at Hunt Chevrolet in Chatham, VA then went to western PA where I bought it. Tom

Tom, My second 69 was near the same thing, except a white custom coupe,,green interior. Sat on the lot at the Chevy dealer I worked at for weeks on end,they couldn't give it away.40K original miles, drove and ran great, but a bear to drive with no PS or PB. I had a 70 SS454 with a rock crusher, needed a daily driver. I think I gave $650 bucks, backed the caster way down, and it drove good. Stuck in a 4:10 gear, new posi clutches and an LT-1 cam and springs, tuned the distributor and changed the metering rods, set of Rally wheels and Goodyear White Letter Polyglas GT's, already had factory duals,and oh yeah, pulled the smog pump and this was a great street car. Would run with the 396 Chevelles and 383 Road Runners, out run many of them. Ran it up to 7500 all the time. Hands down, one of my favorite cars ever,, party days, young and dumb. Love to find another 300/350 car like yours today.

Here's an old pic from 1986. 1969 SS427 loaded with p/w, pvdl, vacuum trunk release, tilt, cruise, comfort tron a/c, am/fm, vigilites, this thing was loaded. Sold it for $5200. Next to it is a 4dr caprice with 2bbl 396, hidden headlights with washers. both neat cars.

I like the white SS... black wall tires with the black top....nice flow to it, wish I could go back to 1986 ! I purchase a white '86 Monte Carlo that year.... still have it !

Two pics of my '68 Z24...

The first is a "full frontal view" at a Cars and Coffee event south of Dayton (OH) from last year. HUGH get-together met every other Saturday morning from April 'till October...sadly, nothing this year.

The other pic is from last Labor Day in nearby Kettering. Don't know the gentleman in the photo. You can see that the right rear wheel is over the curb...I was told that my car was too long and had to back up a little! You can also see the vinyl siding on my ride in this photo.

Sluggo,

Like the color on the SS427. My '68 Z24 fastback was originally Sequoia Green Metallic (unusual one-year color) with a black vinyl top. I notice the Motion 427 BelAir has a Z24 hood!

I think I read that you live in Florida. If so, my story is that our family moved from eastern PA when I was a kid to Gainesville. I went to high school and UF, living there about twelve years. The Gainesville Raceway was not there yet when I left, but I did get to go to Daytona for the last 500 on the beach...I saw a Pontiac spin out in the ocean!

Thanks Bill - Yes I am in Florida - 50 miles away from Bithlo (Orlando Speed World Drag way). Here are some pics of my other cars. Currently working on a 1967 Camaro. (not shown)
