Like we talked about below, how can they put Newman in but not Gordon? What sounds especially stupid is where they said this:

"NASCAR did not adjust the standings to put Gordon into the Chase -- he was in before Bowyer's spin -- because Helton said it was impossible to address all the scenarios."

They usually announce penalties on Tuesday I believe so I think they rushed this a bit much. Maybe they should have leaked a little info about what they were going to do, see what the reaction was, or if not that, at least think about it a little longer and release on Tuesday like normal. Maybe then they would have realized they needed to do something about Gordon.

If people start questioning this, it's only going to make them look bad like usual.
