I think we're probably all familiar with Jan Magnussen from F1/CART/Champ Car/INDY Car/Sports Car, but his son, Kevin Magnussen, started his first F1 race in Australia over the weekend for McClaren-Mercedes. He started 4th, and finished 2nd in his first F1 start. In Kevin's first F1 race he topped his dad's best starting position and his dad's best finish in F1.
F1 has gone to an all new car this year with a V6 turbo, new aerodynamics, etc., etc., etc. and I'm sure CrockerFan could give us a better description of what's going on in F1, but to make a long story short they've put the car back in the hands of the driver. I guess a lot of the drivers are even struggling with the new car they're so different. Sebastian Vettel who has won the last 4 F1 championships and was going for his 10th F1 win in a row going back to last season got a DNF in the F1 season's opener.
