The only 3 pros in the race were Al Unser Jr., Kyle Petty, and Rutledge Wood. Not that I've paid close attention to this race over the years, but didn't there used to be a stronger field of pro drivers? My second question is why was Rutledge Wood considered a pro? Isn't he a motorsports broadcaster and/or journalist? When did he race pro?
Okay, I just Googled Rutledge, and his profession is listed as "auto racing analyst". No pro racing experience found. They just must be that hard up for pro drivers.
