This post is a little early (slim possibility it could be wrong) but another feather in the hat of Boca Surf report, it comes through first (again) with the latest and correct update.
Without that report all we have is NOAA which gave zero relevant and up to date information as to what was going to happen in our little world.
Using NOAA we would still be expecting huge waves from the latest update from NOAA "12H 19/0600Z 20.3N 113.2W 115 KT 130 MPH" which says in 12 hours Hillary will be directly off the coast (20 degrees) at 130 mph winds.
Ventusky is a little more relevant in that you can at least get some data to help you guess, but it is lacking in the kind of tangible information that Boca Surf report gives.
Problem is Boca faces South and we here in La Manz face West, so even though it is only a few miles away it is a world of difference in the direction the beach faces.
Last hurricane I wrote to Boca Surf report (for the third time) asking about their sources for weather prediction, the only response I got was "thanks for contacting us, have a nice day" Arghhh, probably a weather nerd / recluse compiling their own prediction (correctly) from a number of sources.....
Anyway, to sum it up we jumped the shark again (beware the rogue wave) onward through the fog, life is good.
