Wonderful photo of Daniel, David!!! I think he's sitting in front of Gaviotas.. the house next door to him that I rented for 2-3 months a year for many years. The first time I was there, he saw me sitting on the curb with my laptop, trying to pick up wifi from the restaurant across the street. (For the first few years they didn't provide it at Gaviotas.) Daniel came out and handed me a slip of paper with the password for his wifi and told me not to tell anyone or everyone would want it! Every morning after that, for all the years I rented next door, I took him a smoothie for breakfast. He could be curmudgeonly but he had a good heart. I don't have to tell any of you this, however, for you probably all knew him for longer and better than I did. R.I.P. Daniel.. and my condolences to all who loved him. I know there were many.
