Crocodile sighting Posted by Ivona sindler on December 10, 2023, 6:58 am Ola, thought that maybe people should know. I was swimming in front of Cocuna bar/restaurant next to the campsite, around noon yesterday. Suddenly, there was a crocodile head about 10 meters away from me, looking at me with the heady eyes. Needless to say, it was not a very comfortable sighting. I ran out of the water with the pounding heart. Too close for comfort. We watched in with binoculars as it swam across the bay towards the Boca. It was big, about 8 feet. We told many people on the beach and I told the crocodile people at the laguna. I understand the sightings are perhaps common but this was very frightening.

I am told that people see them sometimes and that they will not attack but give them space. The thing is, if it was going to attack me, I would not be writing this. Scary, yes. I will go back and swim a bit but will be vigilant.
