This was a universally observable phenomenon, and celebrated by the various cultural and racial human groups, each in their own unique manner. For most, if not all, societies this was a "serious and sacred " time. Even though experience indicated that the Sun would return north, it was never assumed to be a certainty. Due to the existing universal bias, as to the "sacred "nature of this time, the Roman Christian organization decided to adopt this time as the "official " day celebrated as the "birth of the Son " And so on this 2nd day of Solstice we send our joy, thoughts and sincere gratitude to our Blessed SUN in anticipation of Rebirth and return to longer days. However we, whoever we are, will gather for great food and drink at Coco's restaurant and bar and will honor the sunset with an honoring song and "smudge ".
