North vs South

The bracket was set up pretty crappy. The whole point is for teams that don’t usually play each other, have a chance to play each other. The north teams travel here and end up playing the same teams they play in league and tournaments Same for the local teams minus the travel. You don’t have to set the bracket up to guarantee a North vs South championship. Battle that out from the start!!!
And some of those umpires... gosh damn. Really???

You can tell there was alot of umps out in the field that shouldnt have been umping yet. When you get asked by and ump what you think and your a player... that's bad! But the bracket is not set up manually so i dont agree with you there.

Believe me when I say, they set that bracket up the way they wanted it. They wanted to guarantee a N VS S finals. Just like it was a guarantee that a D team would at least get 3rd in coed.

I think It would have been hard for them to try and make sure it was a N vs S championship. I’m pretty sure there were more North teams than South teams. So I don't think they set the bracket up for it to be intended for that. As far as umpires, at Baytown they were horrible. We had 2 games where umps didn’t have control of the game and another set of umps weren’t on the same page. The strike zone was horrible. I mean HORRIBLE! Let me add the ump didn’t make it obvious he wanted the North team to win. They should have started coed Friday at BLD and cancelled league. Games would have been done sooner and people would have gotten some sleep. I also heard if you had to drive from one park to another and if you weren’t there in time it was a forfeit. That’s BS!

With that many teams and different locations, you have to know that the umpires were very tired also. Not an excuse but you have 1 or 2 umpires trying to control 20-30 players. They are always looking for new umpires. Not as easy as it seems. Clinics are always at the beginning of the year. Remember , if as players, we controlled ourselves and acted right, you would not put umpires in bad positions. Just a thought ....
