Horrible umps...

Why are South Texas umpires so god awful in comparison to North Texas umpires? Is it because of the training does Rene not do a good enough job training these guys? Is it because his umps don't give a shit and are just out there for a quick 20 an hour? (More than what they make on weekly job.) I think it is pathetic how some of these dudes you cant even approach, when we are the mfs paying them. PHILLIP WEAVER can you please just send your umpires to STX as well, because besides a few of these guys they have no business being on the field (Will V, Will, Steven Sotelo, Noe, Randy, Benny, and hell even DB called a pretty good 2 games that we had him on Saturday.) This message is not for you guys y'all are great! But all the other non approachable, big ego having guys y'all straight up suck! Rene get your guys in line man, if you can't, then retire already Dude! Rant over!

Don't call me out behind a computer. Most players have my number and call me when they have a problem and i come to the fields to take care of it. I only had one complaint from the MOB this week about a Homerun being called. Also one pitcher holding the ball 8 seconds then pitching and wanted a strike and both on DB field.
So again come to trailer or send someone or even ask for a director.
And since you are calling out the good ones name the umps you are talking about.
Also if you want to come to my clinic next year feel free to come and see how I train them and also FINE or suspend them when they don't do what they are supposed to do.
Hope this eases your mine.
not everyone is perfect. Ask yourself did you get a hit everytime catch every ball?

That's just it you stay in that trailer until you're called. Be more proactive and walk around and you'll see how crappy of a job most your guys are doing. Instead you're just reactive l, wait for a provlem to occur then take a half hour to get to the field the provlem is on! Why would I go to a clinic I'm still playing. But if I ever do go to a clinic it sure won't be yours it will be Phillip Weavers clinic!!

First of all, who is this Philip Weaver you speak of??? Never heard of the guy. Did you average 1.000 and have no errors this weekend?? Probably not and probably went 0-2. Having been to NTX to play, they have their own group of how you say “horrible umpires!” It’s easy and sit there and criticize people when you wouldn’t know the first thing about doing the job. If this is so important to you, say who you are and don’t hide. And there a lot of umpires who still play so don’t use that as an excuse .. USSSA is always looking for new umpires. So go be “proactive” and get the red on buddy!!

You want to give credit to Phillip Wheeler, are you freaking kidding me. That guy is a joke, he throws people out of tournaments and the complex for asking him a question because they were getting on his nerves.

Rene does quite the job and if you are tired of the unpires why dont you go be on and show everyone how its done. But instead sit back here and b###h over the internet.11

Dwain needs a lot of work on his basic fundamentals & strike zone. He sounds like a mumble rapper with his calls. You can barely hear or understand him. He stays planted behind the plate and doesn't even come out from behind it to get a good look at fly balls. As a result, he missed several calls in the 2 games we had him on. He blamed the calls on his partner, who was a rookie, because he couldn't see the play. No s**t, that is going to happen when you stay planted behind the plate. Just plain lazy. 2 of our games had rookies who we're not ready to be out there. Voices cracking, out of position, just plain lost. Will Henson has a huge attitude & ego problem. Just ready to toss out a player/coach for questioning, not arguing a call. Umpires are supposed to call the game and not bring attention to themselves. Not act all hard like he's somebody important. It's clear you umpire solely for the money. I bet if I catch you in the lot, tail tucked.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks this. I watched Chester and Santa Claus absolutely screw a call up that swung the whole momentum of a game. The reason we don't call you Rene is because the same crap will still continue to happen. You don't ever do anything about it. Chester and Santa should not even be umping tourneys anymore that's how bad they are!

Chester is a prick just like Will Henson. Mr. “Put it there and I’ll call it” & Mr. “That’s Two Mane”. Dude sounds like a bum. Y’all need to take your Bush league skills to back yard circuit tourneys and stay away from Lone Star events. I hope Huch sees this and realizes that some of his umpires are bums. Santa is just too old to get in position anymore and his vision sucks. Elliott is the best umpire we have at BLD.

Rene, drill it in these plate umpires heads to mark runs scored after each batter. We had issues with umpires forgetting run counts, marking runs for the wrong team then wanting to argue after beating called out because of pride. These are simple, basic umping fundamentals. Some of these umps were on that NWA shidddd!

Dont give DB too much credit. I saw him make a bad call. A base runner slid and the base moved, and then he proceeded to call the runner out because he wasnt on the bag. That is a simple call to make. Just need consirules. and knowledge of the rules.

I specifically remember watching a game between Worth It and Knockers on Ebbets at 11pm Saturday. Guy hit a ball into RC gap scoring the runner from 3rd tried to make a triple out if and was safe by getting his hand in on the bag before being tagged on the face... Santa who actually moved (surprisingly) was right on top of it within 5 to 10 feet.. makes call yells safe!! Well of course knockers was mad at the call cause they thought they got him, and ask Santa for help, who mind you, "is right on top of the play" grants an appeal to Chester who was in between 1st and 2nd at the edge of turf and grass (roughly 100 to 125 ft away). Chester tells Santa he had a better view and that he seen the tag, well Santa believed Chester that he had better view and had no balls and gave up his call that he was right on top of. This changed the whole game.. should of been tie ball game runner on 3rd 1 out with about 15 minutes left Worth It home team. So now umps are even determining outcomes, and scared of the partner to tell them no i was right on top of it yes there was a tag but what you couldn't see since you weren't right on top of was his hand got in before the tag!

That’s why it is also your responsibility to keep book. They cost $4 at academy. That way if there is a discrepancy, you have the proof. So drill it into your head to keep a good book

Hands down best umpire in Texas is Lil Joe! This umpire will beat batters and runners to base. Always on top of all calls. Without a doubt the best I've seen!! Need more active umpires like him.
