Before this deteriorates into a Racer vs. Racer battle...
Couple points need to be brought out.
1st.
Gary's point of contention lies in the fact that Charlie had a meeting for the X mod drivers,in which he went into very long painstaking detail about the fact that due to massive expenitures,there would be virtually no increase in the X mod purse for the upcoming season.
Then word got out about Charlie giving the non winged sprints a $1000.00 pay increase.for the upcoming season.
Followed by word a rather substantial purse(over$4000.00) for the 4or5 305 winged cars that will be attendance this year at Sandia
To many it seemed a bit disingenuous.
2nd.
The formation of the club was basically predicated upon two goals.
TECH and providing some sort of stipend for the entire field.
As Gary alluded to...the entire X mod purse last season totaled $840.00
There was NO additional monies requested this season other than to insure that everone got something.
No increase in winners purse or even top 5 for that matter.
All monies requested were for the bottom 1/3 of the field.
I believe totaling in the neighborhood of $200.00/$250.00
Again,
The premise/goal was to make sure EVERYONE got something.
The tech issue,at this point seems to be resolved.
This isn't X mods vs. sprint cars...
It's about an investment in a class that experienced a 35% growth rate in car counts from 2012 to 2013.
