Running a 10 weeks on (8 races per division) 8 weeks off (in a row) then 10 more weeks of racing (8 more races per division) totaling 16 races among 20 weekends in all.
Within those two 10 week sessions of racing there is a major holiday(Labor Day and Memorial Day) and then each division would get a by week somewhere in there also.
This "split" schedule would reduce the drain on track resources(water, labor hours, prep time) due to moisture loss during the hotter months while also lessening the power usage. The track lighting would only need to be on for a total of 10 or 12 of the 16 shows. Assuming of course the first and last three or so events would be ran earlier in the day.
The schedule now is 21 weeks in all with the two major holidays off.
This split schedule would actually add 5 or 6 races to each division without the burnout caused by a virtually non-stop schedule as it exists now.
