16 week split season ?

10 0n 8 off 10 on.
It makes sense. Track conditions are suffering during the sweltering heat of July and August.
Track is good during the spring and fall, easier to prep (water wise) and participation would be much more enjoyable.
Start in mid April, take the big holidays off as usual. Race a total of 8 weeks. Take the two hottest months off, mid June to Mid August, then finish off with 8 more weekends. Taking the holidays off.
This would make for a better experience for all.

Almost all;
the promoter, assuming he is running a profitable operation, looses eight weeks of revenue.

Otherwise the idea has merit

Was using the same logic as everyother weekend.
It was obvious that the then, every weekend approach, was less profitable than the every other.
Remember, NAPA first had a 20+ race schedule.
That was not profitable. And so, as I pointed out, the every other weekend approach afforded those that were not racing to attend the races(PITS) "more often' rather than just when their class was running.
Thus, more frequent attendance by more people more often, equals more money(PITS).
Fegan, figured that one out.
NOW, that the "overall" attendance is less than profitable...
Less races, with mORE participants in attendance is the logic. Isn't it?
Racelogic dictates back gate hauls the freight.

Drivers don't want to race a mere 8 times a year. Most likely, they'll go race somewhere that has more weekly racing events for them to enjoy and leave the "8 week a year" track in the dust.

16 races total. Not 8.

Currently, there are 9 X-Mod, 10 A-mod races on the schedule excluding special shows.
Running a 10 weeks on (8 races per division) 8 weeks off (in a row) then 10 more weeks of racing (8 more races per division) totaling 16 races among 20 weekends in all.
Within those two 10 week sessions of racing there is a major holiday(Labor Day and Memorial Day) and then each division would get a by week somewhere in there also.
This "split" schedule would reduce the drain on track resources(water,labor hours,prep time) due to moisture loss during the hotter months while also lessening the power usage. The track lighting would only need to be on for a total of 10 or 12 of the 16 shows. Assuming of course the first and last three or so events would be ran earlier in the day.
The schedule now is 21 weeks in all with the two major holidays off.
This split schedule would actually add 5 or 6 races to each division without the burnout caused by a virtually non-stop schedule as it exists now.
