I vote to BAN everyone that disagrees with paying $2 to park. Oh Wait ! They are banning themselves, my bad. How ridiculous to even consider banning a spectator because he won't drink the kool-aid (Jones Town). This is not a cult. Even if you think a cause is worthy, you shouldn't be forced to pay one to enjoy another. It does not take an economics major to realize if only 10 (ten) people don't show and pay $15 at the gate you lose $150 in potential revenue. How many cars do you have to park to recoup the loss?(75) It seems the New Management has a freakish attitude toward cultivating spectators and the fan experience. Every word I have heard or read that is attributed to Mr Fagan, promotes himself and how wonderful he is, and says nothing about the races or events that are coming and how wonderfull they might be. Forget the Fan . . . we don't need them.
I showed up without a coupon and was charged $17, a whopping 227% increase from what I paid last year. To add insult I was told that if I had a coupon the cost would be the same as last year. Even with a coupon the cost is 160% of what I paid last year($7.50).
Wow. I never had a beef with a 2.00 parking fee, although the saavy promoter would have just charged 12.00 for fan entry and never mentioned the parking at all. My beef was with the coupons. Logical idea, bad implementation. How many people do not frequent this site to know about the coupons, such as out of towners, who go to the track and are faced with a 17.00 charge? That would put a bad taste in my mouth.
I believe in supporting local racing, but I'm not going to let crap like that slide without a comment, which I'm free to make the last time I checked. I make enough money to buy pit passes each time I come out there without blinking an eye, so don't think it's about funding.
Anyone in business has to know that people will question them, which I'm doing. Anyone who runs a successful business takes the comments, sifts through them, and keeps the ones that will help them succeed while tossing the superfluous ones. Thick skins are also a plus if they want to survive for long.
Here's to a successful year for our new mexico drivers here and abroad.
This is getting old and pathetic; it’s like a D.S. post from yesteryear before he was banned from this site. Look this is not a vote, if you can’t afford two dollars to park then you shouldn’t be going to the races anyway, feed yourself or your family, you’ll have $17 to do it with now. Just drop it, if it means that much to you, in hope to save $26 a year then save the other $195 for entry and don't show up, maybe when the track notices that your missing they will let you park for free, I just wouldn't hold your breath if I were you! The shows will be good enough this year that the seats will be needed anyway, well at least on the dirt…
