ATTN : A-Mods & X-Mods

Its been brought to my attention that if any x- mods want to do double duty this weekend and run with the a-mods there will be a 100.00 bonus( made possible by..we'll tell you later. ) for the top finishing x-mod. Heats will be lined up by pill draw and main event will be lined up by pill draw. Heres the kicker...x-mods will be lined up in front of a-mods in main event. Could be fun, more info at drivers meeting.

I know after reading the messages out here that the A-Mods car counts are down and the track would like to bump up the class but it's one thing to let slower cars on the track but invite them to be targets by placing them up front I just don't get it. An X-Mod has no Biz being on the track with A-mods and I am no expert but it would bring down the level of safety for both classes would it not? I am 1 of the many that wants to see Fast, safe racing, I'm not a member of the Beer drinking fans that want to see cars get needlessly torn to pieces.

Good thing is you dont have to get it, this is a request from the a-mods, they got the bonus money themselves, and agreed to have the x-mods start in front. If you knew anything about these cars, some of these guys will do just fine. Las Cruces has x-mods that run with their a-mods and will finish in the top 10. Some are not to slow. Appriciate your concerns though. Enjoy the show...

Mr. Johnson, could you please explain the difference between a X-Mod & A-Mod?

Don, short version, a- mods are an open motor class,cast or aluminum heads with steal blocks. Any type of rear suspension, 4 link most popular. 8000 rpm chip. X-mod, 360 ci limit ..9 / 9 1/2 to 1 motors, open head but all cast with a 2 barrel carb. Rear suspension is a 3 link only and i believe a 7200rpm chip. Front suspensions and chassis are about equal. As i mentioned before some of these cars run well, cruces can get a couple who will run in top ten on a weekly show. Pat Carney qualified for the big show in cruces with his x-mod vs the open mods. If the main event were to slick up alittle these cars will be hard to beat, less power means less tire spin equals faster lap times. Should be a fun show if guys participate.

OK, I have another stupid question for you, the 8000RPM chip versus the 7000RPM chip, can the A-Mod's change to the lesser chip to give X-Mod's a more level playing field or can the X-Mods go to the higher chip to compete?

If it came down to the two groups talking about that, sure the a-mod could go down to the x-mod rpm limit. The x-mods wouldnt want to go up.

Too bad the A-mods couldn't go to a 7000 chip, Both of those mains were fast but the horsepower edge was definitely there as the 4 A-mods pulled away, who won the Danny Romero Prize?

WHY WOULD X-MODS WANT TO HELP A-MODS BUILD THEIR CAR COUNT,WHAT HAVE THE A- MODS DONE FOR THE X-MODS

We haven't met yet sir, but I know about your racing.
Good Stuff...

I personally think this is an opportunity for folks to race 2 main events and at the same time improve "THE SHOW" for the fans. That's what its all about anyways. The fans enjoying their night at the track and race teams having fun.

I'm probably gonna run my old car as an x-mod and I would jump on the opportunity in a heart beat to get that many laps in one night and Go to work with a big ole smile

Good Morning Don

Just so you know sir, this is not going to be the first time the x-mods have raced with the a-mods. It has already happened this season and some folks probably didn't even realize it. The difference is now that thanks to Danny Romero at Action Align the x-mods now have incentive bonus purse money for logging some extra laps on race night, pretty cool stuff going on to help build up our local track.
To answer your question, yes the chip is a big difference and the two classes do have a different set of rules. But we're all still going to see some great racing, should be fun!

X-mods, you dont have to run the a-mods heats, you must still pay to run both classes, you will have two main events in between the x-mod and a-mod mains to get ready.

Once again Danny Romero with action align. steps up to support the local racers ! Danny stepped up to the plate to add some incentive to the x-mods, the highest finishing x-mod in the main event with the a-mods will receive a 100.00. Please show Danny some love / support, he's always willing to help out ! Thanks Danny !
