WNNERS should start from the Back....

JOE S. I finally agree with U on something. As with MANY at NAPA Speedway, we agree Point Averages has the High Pointers to the Rear & makes a Race of it. What Point is it to Start on the POLE & WIN a Feature? Being we only Race like every other Week, Heats too by Point Average allow similar Talents Race & have Fun. More can enjoy carrying a Checker. As this year proved, a B MAIN is needed & fewer Cars in the MAIN.... DELAWARE Starts needs to be reviewed too. In 1979 I was thrilled to Finish 3rd to Gaylord & Rich Means who had to Start in Back. Guess I'm just an Old Timer FUN Racer..... JW

If you want to be in a everybodys a winner sport, go join kindergarten soccer. Get over it JW, those times are gone. How do you learn how to race against all types of drivers if you run the same heat with the same guys every race and generally starting in the same place every time. At least now you have to race for your starting place in the main i.e. you are earning it through the heats not by just finishing the ht

Yes when One Wins a Heat & a Main, they do start in Back of the Next Scheduled Race, but then in that Next Race, they DNF in Heat & say Finish 17th in their MAIN, their Average may well have them in the Slow Heat next Race Date (ie. this did happened to #65...). Likewise a Heat DNF but a 12th in the Main will have U in the 2nd Heat next time. Then next time take a 2nd in Heat 2 & a 3rd in the Main, next Race you are back in the Fast Heat. So are you not then racing with ALL TYPES of DRIVERS ???

We have a winner...nailed it.
Why penalize those who have their act together.
As it stands...the heats mean something.
Pull a high#pill and you have to race your arse off to get to the front.
So that you can start up front in the feature.
If you're gonna have to start in the back regardless...why even bother running the heat.
Most of the carnage takes place in the back, so you've increased the chances of getting torn up.
Interesting how those advocating fast guys to the back, have no vested interest in a car...
Only time a fast guy should be relegated to the back is if they either break in the heat,
Or
the promoter puts a grip of cash up to do so.

So I asked my girlfriend (she has limited race experience) here is what she thought..."Thats stupid, why are you putting the good cars that know how to drive behind the guys that don't? Why should the good cars get collected in the wrecks caused by people that lack experience, its not a question of if but when since the inexperienced drivers always cause more wrecks. Whats the point in busting your a$$ every week to try to win only to start in back, thats a slap in the face." She then went on to ask if is such a good idea why they don't do it in the Indy 500 or Daytona? Yup, I Love Her.
