X mod rules...2015...

The X mod rules for 2015 are up on the on the Cruces website...
Everything is pretty much status quo from last season, with the exception being that the Chevrolet LS1 327c.i./327hp part# 19165628 crate motor is now legal.
It's aluminum and offers significant weight savings over a cast iron motor.
Motor retails(new) for about $3300.00 less intake.
You can run the factory fuel injection if desired (about 1k.)or 2 barrel intake.
According to Royal,
For testing purposes a used LS1 was purchased from a junk yard complete for $500.00.
Guess Jimmy (Ray) got hold of it and was pretty impressed by the way it ran.
Should be an interesting option. ..this season.
Also, the LS1 motor will be subject to a $1200.00 claim(long block less intake) in order to dissuade anyone from getting to carried away in building one up.

Lastly...
The Annual winter meltdown is just around the corner(March 4~7).
The X mods will be on the program thur/fri./Sat.
Thursday & Friday nights feature will pay $500.00 to win.
Saturday will pay $1000.00
Complete purse structure should be on the snmspeedway.com website later this week.

That actually sounds like a cool idea to run with the fuel injection wonder how you get it all to work tho also any idea where you'd find a 2 barrel intake for the 5.3?

As far as 5.3...the rules read 2 barrel carb...(auto correct, sorry).
I'm guessing 4 barrel intake w/adapter.
The fuel injection would be interesting.
The crate motor rule also applies to the street stock class...
According to Royal, they're trying to keep motor costs from escalating in both classes.
There are some really stout (ie.pricey bullets) down south in both street stock/X mod.
We'll see if anyone actually goes the crate route.
Also...
I forgot to mention the carb rule clarification.
Anyone running a Holley 4412...the metering block MUST have a Holley part number.
No aftermarket metering blocks will be allowed.

What tires are we allowed and not allowed to run example Hoosier imca mod tires allowed or not?

Las Cruces/El Paso are USRA sanctioned...
The American Racer g60's is the only tire allowed down there.
Every other track in the state, Motiva, Grants, Tularosa (heard even new Roswell) that runs X mods allow either the AR g60's or the Hoosier g60.
The Arizona tracks allow either tire as well.

i will try and keep everyone updated best i can, the winter weather has thwarted much progress so far on the track surface.This track is being built where there is already a monster truck/mud bog track so the infrastructure is mostly already there,concession bleachers pit area light etc but still a lot to do.
It will be USRA sanctioned running every sat night beginning in April hopefully.
Classes will be Late Models,Late Models will run every week they're off down south, Mods, X-Mods,Stock Cars,and prob Hobby's,and should be some NMMRA sprint shows also, depends on car counts how this shakes out but thats the plan, pay will be good and the owners are very motivated to get this deal rolling.

yes all will be usra except Late Models,maybe not bombers/cruisers if we have enough to start that class
