This time of year I expect the board to go quiet. People just have a hard time resisting and not giving in to all the holiday stuff. They figure the New Year is coming and they can get it together then.
I just got a Trader Joe's catalog in the mail and while flipping through it, I just kept seeing a whole lot of stuff I can't eat. I wonder about the people that do. Can anyone possibly be healthy eating all that sugar? Even those that are not diabetic? The human body did not evolve and survive eating so much sugar. Think of the damage being done. My husband saw me looking at it and said, "We should go to Trader Joe's". I just laughed at him and asked "Why? To window shop?" lol!
I think when we are young the goal is skinny. As we get older the goal shifts to health. Now as I approach the age my mother was when she passed from congestive heart failure, my goal is to get beyond that and not only live, but thrive, or as close to it as I can get. I don't want to depend on pharmaceuticals to keep me going either if possible. So I'm with you. I've never been "thin" and I've stopped trying. I will NEVER stop trying to be healthy and active.
