The habit of turning to food (mainly those addictive carbs) is a learned coping mechanism that we here all understand and have struggled with. We are used to thinking of it as a weakness or lack of will power, but I now believe it has everything to do with the hormonal shifts that happen with physical and emotional stressors. We do what we know to self medicate. Food was always my go-to substance when going through challenging times. It took a long time of reconditioning to get beyond it.
When we are stressed our bodies can burn through a lot of nutrients at a greater pace. It's a good time to supplement your Cambridge (if that is what you're doing) with a multi vitamin and some healthy fat.
