My Cat disappeared Posted by MaryL on 4/30/2018, 3:13 pm I woke up with a terrible headache.. nothing would get rid of the pain.. It didn't feel right because my cat Dusty is always there in the mornings begging for food or attention. We never let him go outside. He comes into my room and sleeps under my bed or on top. He is no where to be found in the house. Please say a prayer for my cat. He means so much to me and my family! I am just sick about this !!!!!

All is well now but I was overcome with grief and came home sick about an hour ago and I blew my first day back on Cambridge. Tomorrow will be a better day. I simply couldn't stop sniveling and the stupid headache lingers on. Little did I know Mr. Dusty was OK.Thank God he is OK. He was hangin out in the garage and according to my husband he was too afraid to come to my husband. Leaving the entry door open did the trick. Dusty is now chillin and hangin out on the pet bed in front of the sliding door in the family room. What a relief!

I know I would have completely lost my mind if my cat Mitzie had ever gone missing. Sadly..she passed away this past year along with our two dogs. Mitsie was 18 and the dogs were 14 and 15. It was a very tough year. But, I have her buried here in our back yard so I still have her near. Here's my beautiful girl. I miss her so much.

I understand your feelings and I sympathize. I still cry when I think of my Brandy (Cocker Spaniel) and Yoko, Cassie, and Lucky, my 3 girl kitties.

If people aren't a animal lover they just don't get that kind of loss. Unconditional love, and beyond. My pup is 16. I don't want her to ever suffer. and every morning I ask God, Heal her or Take Her.

We have to make hard decisions sometimes about our much loved pets and this past year I cried more then I probably have in my entire life. Mitzie was a Beautiful and very intelligent Main Coon cat that just wandered in to my life one day. She was only about 6 months old, but very pregnant. I was never a cat person, but there was something so special about her. We were bonded. My poor husband is horribly allergic to cats, but he never complained. He knew we were a package deal if he wanted to marry me!

(However if he does scare the begeezas out of you again, it could still become "Miss" LOL In my opinion, you didn't blow anything. Look around.....you are on the board!!! And you are no different than the rest of us. I can tell you my "Go To" food when a stressful situation comes out of the blue is NOT a well balanced meal!!!!! Nor is it a "Legal Cheat" It is Tasmanian devil mode until I can get my head on straight. No Carb is safe in my home, and I would walk through a Sahara Deseret to get one if I had to. I don't know if you have kids, grand kids or what ever. But I have a fur baby. I am a Fur-Momma/Slave. She is 16. She comes to me ONLY when she wants something. Otherwise leave her alone. But she is slowly losing her eye sight and has already lost her hearing, And I can go through my house, and If I don't see her, my heart starts pounding, and I can feel every part of my being tightening up, Like Mr. Dusty. There is no way she can get out.....but my Fur-Baby heart doesn't care about silly details. I react in a human, normal, fur-baby mamma way. Just like you, and I am guessing anybody on this board. I pray that your headache is better today. Allergies around here are crazy. Fortunate for me, I can take an over the counter stuff and be ok. My sister,not so much. She swells up like a blow fish, her face turns red, and her voice sounds like Boris Karloff, So healing prayers to you Dear Heart. Deep Breathes. Heart full of thankfulness Today is just another day to do better.

Could he have gotten out some how? If so, they recommend you put his litter box outside so he can find his way home. Cats usually stay close to home if they get out, but they can smell up to a mile away to get there. Put out some worn clothing too.

Dusty never goes outside but snuck out into the adjoining garage when David was checking for squirrels yesterday morning. He is always around jumping up onto the bench in the kitchen and up on the table where he doesn't belong day or night. At night he is up patrolling looking for mice. He always comes around wrapping himself around our legs, rubbing on us or the dog with his fluffy tail up begging to be petted. We love him dearly and he seems to love us. I couldn't believe how easily I fell apart yesterday but am so thankful there was a happy ending.

Even though I no longer have any pets (all passed away last year from old age)I still get very emotionally involved when someone else's goes missing. I'm always keeping an eye open for stray dogs and cats. We have several feral cat colonies here so you can't always be sure that it is someone's pet unless they are approachable. We had one pup named Poncho that was missing for 4 months. He was a rescue from hurricane Irma that had devastated his home in Puerto Rico and a family adopted him. He had only been in his new home a couple of days. He got out Thanksgiving night. He was spotted all over, one city to the next, but never caught. Finally, 25 miles from home, he wandered in to a large property near Ormond Beach and decided he liked it there. The guy that lived there had no idea who Poncho was and that he had been on the news and in the local paper until someone told him. The owners decided to let him stay where he had found a home and a family. A very happy ending!
