15,269 steps! Posted by Yvonne on 10/26/2018, 11:18 am Good morning, folks: Yes! I am STILL here! I hope many of you are, as welll, but not posting. The routine rather than the scale seems to be working for me. I'll soon be going into my 9th week of Cambridge (for the most part). As I said before, I am NOT perfect, but I am "looking" a little different. My clothes are not as tight and I can "feel" my jawline. Anyway, I am taking this train to the final destination of BEING HEALTHIER!! Have a great day everyone. Remember Thanksgiving is only 27 days away. I can eat then!

I was thinking about you this morning and was going to ask how your husband is doing. I've had a couple of rough weeks health wise but I think things are getting dialed in now. The good thing is that it has motivated me more then ever to commit to my health. I want to avoid relying on pharmacuticals to maintain good numbers. BP and diabetes has dogged me the majoriety of my life since teen years so I've done pretty good so far, but I can't get away with any periods of sloppiness or apathy. Super vigilance is my only option. I met with my new primary care Dr yesterday and discussed my attack plan and she is 100% supportive. So even if it's just a few of us here, we don't value our friends by their numbers, but by their quality, and I think we've got that covered! Have a wonderfully successful day. Time to go break in my new treadmill!

My husband is now at a subacute facility (Kessler kicked him out after the commercial insurance maxed out and they would not take private pay or Medicare). They just kicked him out of their facility and he really needs intensive therapy for his post-stroke paresis. But, they really didn't care. It was all about the insurance and the profit. I am so saddened by the way medicine has run amuck with business taking over the management of healthcare. I wrote to my Senator for help, but I haven't heard from him. We contributed mightily to his campaign, but politics is politics. I believe the good Lord has a plan and will take care of us, if I just keep fighting and I will.

Not just what the facility did, but the fact that you have not heard back from your senator even as a major contributor. Just shows it's all about them and their political career. Not the people they serve or who elected them. I hope he is still making progress in spite of the change.

However, being on the "other side" of medical care has truly opened my eyes. We, as physicians, should have NEVER allowed business into our profession. But, we did and we can't go back now. I pray every day that God protects my husband from all of these people.
