Still in the endless effort of getting moved. We had the buyer's inspection a few days ago and got the list of nit-picky things the inspector found and she wants fixed. So poor Andy is not off the hook yet. He's still working and we are still showing to accept back-up offers in case our current buyer can't get financing. Had another showing today. We are SO over this! We are like walking zombies, exhausted, but too stressed to sleep. when this move is over I am going to park my butt in front of the lake for a week and not move!
Time to go read and get caught up on you all. Yvonne, how is your husband doing? I hope he is recovering well.

Good morning, Pam:
He is slowly recovering from COVID-19. I am so grateful that he is still alive!! So many residents of these long-term care facilities died from lack of oversight and proper adherence to established infection controls. In New Jersey, 1% of residents are in nursing homes, but accounted for 40% of the deaths due to COVID-19. They are a forgotten population. No one really cares about them. I just didn't want to see my husband in a body bag put in the back of a refrigerated truck. He is still not out of the woods. However, I pray that he has developed some antibodies that will protect him.
If we didn't have our own private duty aides to come into the facility, I would not have known that his linens weren't changed and his room was not cleaned. Once I found out, I went berserk and called the administrator, the corporate president and the governor about why these facilities don't have enough PPE or qualified workers to take care of these vulnerable patients.
It has been an emotional roller coaster for me. But, I still keep going. This is the longest time my husband and I have been apart since we were married 46 years ago. However, when I see his face via FaceTime or WhatsApp, I know that God is in charge and my faith will get me through this.

That's so good to hear. I hope he has continued to make progress since you posted this. I am so glad he has had you to fight this battle with and for him. They ARE the forgotten and I have found the attitude of the younger and more careless population, that this only sickens old people (like us!) so it's not so tragic just maddening! Like we are dispensable. Our youngest victim here in Flagler Beach is only 7.
Thank goodness for technology during all this.

I’m also one of the lucky ones.
However, those who are the bus drivers, the nurses aides, your delivery people all must be exposed to this lethal virus.
Keep the faith!

My son has been one. He works at Aldi as a supervisor and has been exposed every day to this virus. I am SO grateful he has remained healthy as well as his little family.
It will be interesting to see how the infection rate is effected by the protests. You do see many people wearing masks, but certainly not social distancing.

I glad to hear that your son is well.
The combination of this plague, unemployment and now this uprising against injustice (which is long overdue) could not have happened at a worse time.
My Mom said never talk about religion or politics, so I won't. However, mowing down innocent law-abiding citizens exercising their right to peaceably assembly is tantamount to Tiananmen Square in 1989.
