Day 6- 79 Days til Election Day and End Of Challenge

Anyone wanting to join this challenge please feel free. It's about counting down for a healthier and lighter you by November 3rd. I am grateful that I have an opportunity to lose between 39 and 79 Pounds between now and election day. Second chances aren't always given in this life as we are given only this day. I am hopeful that some of my fall clothes will fit better or be loose by then.
Yesterday I did OK-I hopped on the scale this morning and am celebrating another 1 pound loss. I will reduce my weigh ins to once per week in about a week. Some people need to avoid the scale. I am just the opposite- If I don't weigh in there is nothing to hold me to account. If there is a time when the weight loss slows down or stops then I know it will be time to work even harder-I document and chart my weight daily on the website I use to monitor my intake. Yesterday I rediscovered the sweetness of green grapes. I usually don't eat much if any fruit, other than apples or occasionally bananas. The grapes were a special treat.Yummy. I use the intermittent fasting principal to plan my meals. I eat within a 7 hour window, and this cuts out the possibility of a night time binge which was always my downfall when I was working full time. I could be good as gold all day long but after work all He## would break loose!!!! Today- Breakfast - a Cambridge shake- Lunch - a salad- Dinner- today it's grilled skinless chicken, green beans, and home made dumplings. A snack might be another shake, or a piece of toast with home made raspberry jam, or a Greek yogurt, or a piece of fruit, or cheese, or pickles- Anything as long as it is healthy and it is written down for the day.
Everyone have a good day.Stay safe -stay well.
Re: Day 6- 79 Days til Election Day and End Of Challenge
Intermittent fasting is a great plan! It is actually more in line with how we humans naturally ate and evolved to what we are today. In the human existence timeline, it's only been in the last 5 seconds that we've had access to food 24/7 and even less then that since we began eating the very unnatural carb/sugar heavy diet of processed food. The obesity problem of today is the result of this change. My husband and I have been naturally doing time restricted eating for almost 2 yrs, keeping mostly to an 18/6 window, and it is perfect for us. We typically eat around 10am and then again around 3 or 4. 2 meals a day. We are extremely low carb and have no need for snacking. It works great for us.
If you find your weight loss stalling, my suggestion would be to adjust sources of sugars, including fruits and grains, to keep those insulin spikes down. It seems to work well with the goals of IF, especially those of us metabolically challenged. We are a nation of insulin resistant, metabolically messed up people due to the standard carbohydrate heavy American diet. Keep going! You're on a good sustainable path!
Speaking of grapes, have you tried freezing them? It gives you that extra pop.
Accountability is so important. I tried weighing every day and it really messed with my mind. So, this week I plan to just “follow the yellow brick road” and weigh in one week.
Before you know it it’ll be November 3rd!
