When I was a little kid I remember I would squat outside all the time to take a dump, because I was having too much fun to walk all the way home and do it. I would dig a little hole, use the thick soft fuzzy leaves of a plant that was known to all of us kids as "indian toilet paper" (I'm curious to find out what the proper name of this plant is!) to wipe, then bury it so it wouldn't stink. Squatting never felt awkward or unnatural to me. Then as an adult, I decided to try squatting again because I'd heard about the health benefits, and I must admit it felt a little awkward at first. I had to steady myself by putting my hands on the ground in front of me. But now when I'm taking a dump, squatting actually feels more natural to me than sitting. Sitting just doesn't feel right any more. It feels uncomfortable because it doesn't seem to give my rectal muscles the right leverage. I think I may have a "leg up" on the situation since I am still young and my leg muscles are quite strong. With muscles the advice seems to be "Use it or lose it!" Some day I think I'm going to invest in a bidet (a.k.a. butt sprayer) as well. I've always been curious to try one. Toilet paper really sucks when you've got dry itchy ass syndrome (not the technical term for it, I'm sure). Airport toilet paper is the absolute worst! My only concern is I'll get so spoiled I won't ever want to leave my house!
