we've been away for the weekend recently and i had to go for no.2, and rather than just waiting for him to leave the en-suite room i actually asked him to leave the room as i 'couldn't go' while he was there, lying on the bed. i got a bit grumpy so finally he left. so anyway, he then progressed to make fun of me about the other day again..and i thought this would be a good time to tell him, but because he was taking the p*** so much i just couldn't. so i thought if only you knew..but worried that he would just take the p*** even more if i told him. he often makes fun in this way cause i think he thinks i've got a hangup about my body as i never fart in front of him. (it's just polite isn't it?) anyway, thanks for listening, Emily
i still haven't told my boyfriend about my 'condition' but yesterday the chance came up..here's how it went:
he started laughing and told me not to be silly and he wouldn't leave the room 'just for that'.
note he has absolutely no problems with his motions (so to speak), he can go anytime and anywhere.
then yesterday he brought the subject up again by saying he has never heard me fart (he himself does it frequently in front of me without a care)..well, i actually don't know many women myself who i have ever heard farting - it's more a bloke thing i suppose..
he said something like 'uh you gotta put the taps on or turn the music up so nobody can hear you fart on the toilet' - in a sort of jokey way but it was upsetting nevertheless.
don't even know where he got that from as i have never either turned the taps on while on the loo OR turned the music up..i just won't go if someone's around.
also whenever i tell him i've got a bad stomach he goes 'oh you've got the shits?' and he seems to enjoy to embarrass me in this way (once he said that while one of his mates was there).
so i don't know - is he just plain insensitive or is it because he doesn't understand the concept that somebody would rather keep their private things private?
hmm, either way it doesn't inspire much confidence to tell him.
i believe he really wouldn't understand. :-(
