he's right when he says it's all in the head: in the same way that diabetes is all in the pancreas. the brain (and the rest of the nervous system) is an ultra complex organ. you could try kicking him in the nuts and telling him that the pain he feels is just nerve endings being triggered: it's all in the head ;-)
